A necklace featuring an exquisite pink diamond

We received a consultation from a long-time client of Reception who wanted to own a jewel with investment value.

The diamond market is currently unstable, with lower-grade diamonds tending to decline in value.

However, color diamonds have been on the rise in recent years.

Among color diamonds, rare colors such as red, blue, pink, and green are highly sought after. Pink diamonds, 90% of which were produced by the Argyle Mine before its closure in 2020, continue to reign as one of the most popular colors.

This time, we selected a round brilliant cut Fancy Vivid Pink diamond, the highest color grade for pink diamonds, to be set in a necklace.

After hearing the client's desired budget and general design preferences, I first created and proposed a design that I believed would best showcase this pink diamond.

At that time, the client's request was for a teardrop-shaped necklace top.

And this is the design I ultimately proposed.

When I proposed the design, the client loved it and gave me the go-ahead to proceed with production. Then it was time to source the melee diamonds that would enhance the pink diamond.

No matter how wonderful the main pink diamond is, I believe there's no point in my work if the supporting melee diamonds are mediocre. So, I selected only the finest melee diamonds.

As you can see in the photos, they are perfectly colorless and well-matched. At this point, the materials were perfect.

After that, I frequently called the craftsman to meticulously confirm the finishing details.

The chain was made 45cm long so it could be worn with turtlenecks, and the prongs were rounded as much as possible to prevent snagging. I checked these points again.

I also worked closely with the craftsman to confirm the strength of the connecting ring between the necklace top and the bail, ensuring it would hold securely even during activities like golf. Here is the completed piece!
