Our Selection and Handling Standards

At our store, we primarily offer natural fancy color diamonds selected through in-person inspection, rather than relying solely on the information stated in grading reports.

Additional Notes on Selection

Color Grade Basics

Natural color diamonds are diamonds with visible body colors, such as pink, yellow, and blue.

While colorless diamonds are evaluated by the 4Cs, color is especially important when evaluating natural color diamonds.

Color grades indicate the depth and vividness of the color, using nine levels such as Fancy Light, Fancy, Fancy Intense, Fancy Vivid, and Fancy Deep.

Lab Report Description and Actual Appearance

Even with the same color grade, the visual impression can vary depending on how the color appears within the stone and its shape.

Likewise, even stones with the same shape can look different depending on their lines and curves, affecting how the color appears.

For this reason, we do not judge diamonds by the lab report alone. We review the color origin (Natural), color grade, and shape, then select each stone by looking at its actual color, shape, and brilliance as a whole.

Same Color Grade Comparison A

Differences that are difficult to notice in a single stone become clearer when placed side by side, especially in how the color appears.

イエローダイヤモンド Fancy Vivid Yellow の同一カラーグレード比較

Fancy Vivid Yellow

Same Color Grade Comparison B

Even within Fancy Vivid Yellow, each stone has its own character—from bright, vivid tones to lighter colors closer to Fancy Intense Yellow, and deeper tones closer to Fancy Deep Yellow.

Pear Shape

Same Shape Comparison

Even within the same pear shape, the impression can vary depending on the curve and overall proportions.

Once set into jewelry, these differences in outline are reflected in the finished piece.

Rarity — The Same Stone May Not Come Along Again

Natural color diamonds are one-of-a-kind, and no two stones are exactly the same.

When a stone strongly catches your eye, it may be difficult to find another with the same color, shape, and overall impression.

Even when stones are cut from rough material with a similar color, the way the color appears can vary depending on the shape.

We consider stones that show strong color beyond the characteristics of their shape to be especially rare.

Product Images and Lab Report Information

It can be difficult to fully convey the appeal of a diamond through photos or videos alone.

The information listed on a lab report is also based on visual assessment, and the impression of a stone is not determined by the report alone.

Colorless diamonds tend to be easier to assess from photos and lab reports, but some stones may still show a slight haze when viewed in person.

Please keep these points in mind when viewing our diamonds online.
