A Birthstone Ring Redesigned into an Everyday Necklace

Y, a client from Hyogo Prefecture, brought us a ring that their parents had made with their birthstone when they were born.

They wanted to preserve the original design of the ring while transforming it into a necklace that could be worn every day.

The centerpiece had originally been set vertically. For the necklace, we turned it horizontally and designed a bespoke, light-catching bail for the chain.

We also reproduced the original engraving from the ring on the bail.

Because the pendant was relatively heavy compared with the bail, we added a slight angle to the back of the bail. This keeps the pendant balanced and prevents it from tipping forward when worn.

After the necklace was delivered, we received a very kind message from Y.
